It's that time of year again!!

On Sunday November 24th, the Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade will be strutting down Frankford Avenue for the 43rd time!

This year we are honored, proud, and happy to have Philly Music Legend Michael LeCompt as our 2019 Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade Grand Marshal!

ATTENTION MUSICIANS: Here is your opportunity to put your band in the Parade! Message us for more information.

The Boy Scouts will once again be collecting canned goods along the Parade route, and the United States Marines will be collecting toys for Toy's For Tots at Knorr Street.

Our parade starts at noon, and will run along Frankford Avenue from Rhawn to Knorr Street.

We are once again encouraging people to create family oriented floats and enter them into the Parade. Please either message us here, or contact info@ThanksgivingParade.org for more information on how to enter your very own float!

If you are interested in participating in the parade, would like to volunteer, or would like to sponsor the parade, please contact info@ThanksgivingParade.org.

The more the merrier!

In the meantime, please pray for a warm, dry, sunny, and wind-free day on November 24th.

See you then!

Yesterday (10/1/19), the School District of Philadelphia as well as the developer (Gilbane) and their attorneys presented their case before the Philadelphia Civic Design Review Board for approval. We were VERY fortunate to have representatives / residents from the community there as well fighting for what is in the best interest of the community.

Attached is one of the photographs that was used during the presentation, which is very misleading.

The Community Field pictured as well as Field 1 and Field 2 are NOT included in this project and will NOT be built during construction of the new school!

The School District has replied to our Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) and they have stated that they intend to develop the fields, however they have not given a timeline for this project. The School District has also remained vague with our other requests as well. Follow up questions remain unanswered.

After seeing the presentation during our September 16th Civic meeting (our first time seeing it), we realized that there is insufficient parking, the roadway to the new school is narrow, and were left wondering why the new school isn't being built to house the larger number of students projected to attend in the very near future.

The next public hearing is before the Philadelphia Zoning Board of Approval on Wednesday October 16th, and we'll need as many people as possible to attend in order for our voices to be heard. If you can attend this very important hearing, please email us at MayfairCivicAssociation@yahoo.com

Thank you!
