Mayfair is a vibrant Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood, home to a variety of stores, pubs and restaurants and the proud host of community events all year long.
The Civic Association consists of volunteer citizens focused on the betterment of their Community.
If you donated to our American Flag project, when you get a minute today, take a walk or ride on over to Rowland avenue - anywhere between Rhawn and Frankford - and take a moment to feel that neighborhood pride that YOU contributed to!
Last night after several hours of work, volunteers of the community finished installing the remaining flags along Rowland avenue.
Feel free to take pride not only in your neighborhood and your country, but also in knowing that this project was NOT at all funded with your tax dollars, and was instead completely funded by YOU through passing the hat, and taking donations - Much like many of other projects that take place in Mayfair!
In order to extend the life of the flags, they will remain in place until shortly after Veterans Day, and will then be taken down and stored until next Spring. If you missed the opportunity to donate to this project, we are still taking donations through the Mayfair Civic Association as we will be needing funds to replace them as necessary.
On behalf of the Mayfair Civic Association, I would like to thank the entire Mayfair Civic Association board for making this dream a reality, I'd like to thank Ken Stevens and Home Depot of Bustleton avenue / Leo Mall for helping us secure our flags, and most importantly, I'd like to thank each and every one in our community who donated to this project.
