Subject: Mayfair Memorial Playground Clean-up

Hi Everyone!

My name is Mia Hylan and I am the site coordinator for the Philly Spring Clean-up at the Mayfair Memorial Playground near Lincoln High School. Thank you so much for volunteering to clean up our site! We are working to get the playground ready for the summer season.  With your help we will be cleaning up the grounds, inspecting and fixing the equipment, graffiti clean-up, doing some small gardening projects, and some weeding! If we have time, and enough people, we'll possibly do some small painting projects.

I just wanted to contact all of you and give you a little bit of information. The Spring Clean-up starts at 9:00am and goes until 2:00pm (although our site is kind of small so we probably will not need that whole time). Right now we only have about 13 volunteers so if you have friends or family that would like to come along, we'd love to have them! There is a parking lot directly adjacent to the site where you can park and there is a SEPTA bus stop right in front as well, if anyone is taking public transportation. The playground is located directly in front of Lincoln High School but if you need directions please, let me know.

Please make sure you wear closed toe, comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing you aren't afraid to get dirty. I would suggest a long sleeve t-shirt since we'll be doing some gardening and this will protect your arms. The City is providing brooms, rakes, gloves, graffiti removal kits, garbage bags and recycling bags for us to use. I will be bringing a case of water for everyone to share but please feel free to bring a drink and a snack for yourself if you want.

Below is a general release form for the Spring Clean-up. If you can, please review, print it, sign it and bring it with you on Saturday morning. If there are any minors participating they MUST have a signed release form signed by a parent or guardian or they will not be allowed to participate in the clean-up.  We will probably also be taking some pictures for the Philly-Spring Clean-up site. If you are not alright with having your picture taken, please let me know the day of the clean-up.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I will do my best to answer them.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you the day of the Clean-up!

Mia Hylan
